Terms of Use

These terms apply to all four Word of the Day apps: Korean, Dutch, Mandarin, and Japanese.
The apps
Each app shows one word a day on your lock screen and home screen, with its meaning and pronunciation. The apps are free to use. There is no subscription and no advertising.
Age
The apps are made for general audiences. They don't require an account, and they don't collect personal information. If you're below the age of consent in your country, use the apps with a parent or guardian.
Your data
The apps work entirely offline. Your saved words and settings stay on your device. No account is needed, and no data is sent anywhere.
Use
You may use the apps for personal, non-commercial learning. The word content is a curated collection; you may learn from it, but not redistribute it as your own.
Changes to the apps
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also discontinue an app entirely. We're not obligated to keep any feature running forever.
No warranty
The apps are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Language changes and mistakes happen; the apps are a companion for your own study, not a guarantee of fluency.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the apps. This includes loss of data, loss of time, and anything related to translations or notifications.
Because the apps are free, our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed £50.
App Store and Google Play
Your use of the apps is also covered by the usage rules of the Apple App Store or Google Play, whichever store you downloaded from. Apple and Google aren't responsible for the apps or their content, and they don't provide any warranty for them. Apple and Google can enforce these terms directly against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
Resolving issues
If something's wrong, email support@youcanlearn.it first. Most things can be sorted out directly.
Severability
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
Transfer
If ownership of the apps changes, these terms carry over to whoever operates them next.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the apps grow. The current version is always on this page. Using the apps after a change means you accept the new terms.
